Rishi Veda : The Art of Healing Facials

A good facial to me is so much more than a facial, apart from providing my skin some loving and caring, it has the ability to put me in a very meditative and deeply relaxed theta brain wave state, which adds a whole new dimension to the experience. The energy and technique of the facialist, the quality and the scents of the products used make up an overall healing experience, which is even more relevant now than ever before. I’ve recently had a pleasure to experience the magical facial done by the beautiful Madhavi of  Rishi Veda in London’s Mayfair.  A very skilled facialist , aroma therapist and  practitioner of the healing arts,  Madhavi is  beautiful, warm, knowledgeable and very passionate about bringing about the client’s positive changes on both emotional and physical level.  She mixes her own custom blends from purest, potent and natural ingredients tailored to the specific needs of her clients. Her aim is to provide each client with bespoke treatments and products which align their mind and body to honour the beauty within. She offers a range of personalised treatments that are created to bring you into a …

Meet The Founder : Alicia of Apothepurity

Dear lovelies, today I would love to introduce you to the beautiful Alicia, who is the founder of  Apothepurity, an amazing eco conscious apothecary company, whose  products I had a pleasure to experience recently and absolutely loved. Not only are the products  so nurturing and therapeutic , Apothepurity’s values are an example of what a conscious natural skincare brand should be : honest and transparent, sustainable, supporting local businesses, fully recyclable packaging and materials, zero waste  and supporting animal welfare. Alicia herself is an absolutely inspirational human being, who’s journey towards finding her calling and her brand is touching and beautiful. In this interview she shares her personal inspiration behind Apothepurity, her  journey towards finding her calling , her passion towards natural living and her future plans for this beautiful brand. I hope you will love it! What is your personal definition of beauty? This is actually a very personal question to answer for me. I have the word beauty tattooed on my wrist in my own handwriting from a time when I was young and wild, to remind me of exactly what it means to me. True beauty, to me, has …

Detoxifying Matcha and Charcoal Mask

A new year for many people means a fresh start.  A fresh start not only to our health but also to the way you take care of your skin.  Incorporating a mask into the skin care regime is a great place to start. This incredible mask  is packed with antioxidants, minerals and active ingredients that will help to clear your skin of toxins and grime while nourishing and clearing it at the same time. It will also help to minimize the pores.  Activated Charcoal – Activated charcoal is well known for its highly absorbent properties. It can absorb up to 200 times its dry weight. It is already used to absorb poisons in the body so when applied to the skin, it will suck out all of the dirt and grime from your pores. As well as absorbing toxins from your skin, another benefit of using activated charcoal is that it’s also perfect for people with oily skin. With continued use your complexion will improve making it look healthier and fresh and flawless.  If you suffer from a greasy T-zone then applying activated …

2016 Beauty Favourites

The year is coming to an end and it has been such an amazing year for me and I am so  looking forward to New year and new experiences. This year I have tried and been introduced to so many amazing natural beauty products and I have absolutely loved using them, some of them have become my all time favourites. Here is the round up of  my favourite beauty products for this year, some of the sections include more than one product as I couldn’t choose between the two.  I have tried to put the links to some of the smaller less known brands and also I did not include hair products as I am very basic when it comes to haircare and just use a natural shampoo and oils as treatments. There are many hair products that I enjoy using but I am still looking for that ‘cant live without’ hair product. Skincare Moisturiser- I mostly use oils  and balms as part of my skincare, however I would highly recommend Living Libations and Gemstone Organics moisturisers. Face …

Tose Apothecary: A Step Closer To Nature

I am a big believer in  honest , authentic , truthful and ethical business  values and that is exactly why when I see a beautiful small brand of natural beauty products , such as Tose Apothecary,  I cant help but appreciate and love their honesty and desire to provide natural, beautiful smelling and effective skincare. After meeting beautiful Abha, the founder of Tose Apothecary at one of the London’s craft markets, while we discussed our mutual passion for holistic skincare, I fell in love with her values and dedication for cruelty free, hand crafted and pure products.  At the core of their values stands the intention to help people  get on a journey to rediscover beauty by using chemical free products, making nature part of our everyday lifestyle and in tern contributing to changing the world by playing our part in making the world a better place. Manuka Honey Magic Face Treatment

About once a week I make myself a beautiful spicy manuka mask, while I am taking a long , warm, healing bath. This is one of my favourite rituals. I absolute love baths and while applying a mask, the heat from the bath opens my pores , making the mask work more effectively. Manuka honey has amazing healing and anti-bacterial  properties. It offers amazing anti viral, anti microbial and anti bacterial health benefits and can be used to boost the immune system to fight off illnesses and improve skin conditions.   It is a specialist honey, and to see the benefits you need to get the proper stuff (not all honey is created equal). It is very important to make sure that you’re getting the real deal. Proper Manuka honey comes from New Zealand, and will have a UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) rating of 10+ or more on its label. The higher the number , the stronger the antibiotic effect. Cheaper imitations are likely to be less effective.  I always make sure that I buy organic , as I believe that it is better …

Bare Origins: Nature’s Healing Power

I just want to start by saying how much I love Argan oil . It was the first oil that I have ever put on my face and I credit this beautiful oil to the beginning of my clean beauty care transition. It was 8 years ago, while travelling in Morocco , near Essaouira , where me and my friends decided to stop at one of the argan oils cooperatives there and I bought one, out of interest. When I came back home  and tried it as a night serum I remember how amazed I was in the morning at how nourished and soft my skin felt. It was love at the first sign. The benefits of argan oil are endless . Light and capable of penetrating the skin without feeling greasy , this anti- ageing, anti – inflammatory , moisturizing and nourishing wonder oil is high in vitamin E, polyphenols, squalene  and carotenes, the antioxidant compounds that protect the skin against free radical damage. Indigenous to Morocco , argan trees are adapted to dry and harsh desert …

Organic and Wildcrafted Skincare : Annmarie Gianni

As we become more and more aware of the harmful ingredients that can be found in cosmetics , we are more inclined to buy organic and natural skincare, which is the reason why the organic and natural skincare market has been on a massive rise in the last 5 years. Because of this rise the organic brands and products have been flooding the market and the words ‘natural’ , ‘organic’ and ‘botanical’ have somehow been misused . It is so important to read the labels and have the knowledge of these ingredients. For example,  many skincare companies , will make a list of fancy ingredients that are derived from herbs, however  the majority of them are heated and heavily processed. I absolute love finding real organic skincare lines that use   100% raw, natural, certified organic, and wild-crafted ingredients.  A selection of herbs used in Annmarie Gianni are picked in the mountains where they grow wild!  Annamarie Gianni is one of these companies that as well as being completely chemical free,  incorporate the secrets of aromatherapy, utilising the …

Cocoa Creamy Bath Salts

Autumn months are a perfect time for an indulgent bath ritual as it is so warming, cozy and comforting. A good bath has the ability to take us to a place of deep relaxation and help to ease muscle aches, tension and cramps. During the colder month I looove to take baths almost every night and experiment with different bath salts and oils to put in it. Commercial soap products such as bubble baths or shower gels can have a drying effect and can be harmful to our skin. Using natural ingredients such as salts and oils is a great way to make sure that you get beautiful skin and healthy mind without using harsh chemicals. Epsom salts are different than traditional salts in that it is actually a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate. These minerals have very powerful health benefits that can enhance the detoxification capabilities of the body. Epsom salt has beneficial properties that can soothe the body, mind and soul. Some of the countless health benefits include relaxing …

Handmade and Natural Beauty with Lucky Cloud Skincare

There is an amazing natural handmade beauty revolution happening here in the UK, which is something  I so exited about. It seems that for a while  we were behind our American friends when it came to natural , handmade , vegan skincare , but this is something that is rapidly changing. I am personally a great supporter of small natural beauty businesses and I believe that in our homogenized world, it is so important to support small  family and sole run businesses and we are now witnessing the birth of some amazing homemade skincare lines made and available here in the UK and Europe. There is so much love, soul, passion  and care that can be felt in a beauty product that has been handmade and this amazing exchange of energy that happens when you buy directly from someone is just so beneficial for the body and mind, not mentioning the economy and the environment. When founder and maker, Lucy Cardwell began  experimenting with making simple lip balm recipes in her kitchen in Edinburgh in early 2013 …
