Healing Aloe and Charcoal Mask

Making healing , nourishing , moisturising  and beautifying masks out of natural organic ingredients is one of my favourite past times and this Aloe, Charcoal and Tea tree mask is so easy to make and is super toning and clearing and leaves the skin glowing and fresh looking. I absolutely love using charcoal and clay in skincare for its amazing detoxifying benefits , while adding aloe vera to it makes it very soothing and toning. Tea tree oil is great as an antiseptic for breakouts. To make the mask you will need: 4 Activated charcoal capsules 1/2 tsp bentonite clay ( or any other cosmetic clay) 1/2 tbsp aloe vera gel 1 drop of tea tree essential oil ( optional ) few drops of Rose water Mix all the ingredients together to make the desired consistency, apply to clean face for 10 min and remove with warm water . Chocolate and Chia Banana Bread

I am always in search for a perfect banana bread. Banana bread with chia seed jam is one of my favourite breakfast ever or I just love to have it as a snack. Here is a beautiful recipe that make a delicious and moist banana bread which I love making together with my son. In our house this chocolate banana bread gets eaten very fast :). Ingredients coconut oil for greasing 3 tbsp chia seeds 4 tbsp. raw cacao powder 4 ripe bananas 120 ml almond milk 120 ml coconut oil, melted 1 tbsp lemon juice 5 medjool dates, pitted 200 g buckwheat flour (or any other flour) 1 tsp vanilla powder 2 tsp baking powder pinch of salt Method Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease the loaf pan with coconut oil and line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper. Soak the chia seeds in 150 ml water for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, process the bananas, oat milk, melted coconut oil and lemon juice in the blender. Remove the pits from the dates and add them …

 Autumn months are a perfect time for an indulgent bath ritual as it is so warming, cozy and comforting. A good bath has the ability to take us to a place of deep relaxation and help to ease muscle aches, tension and cramps. During the colder month I looove to take baths almost every night and experiment with different bath salts and oils to put in it. Commercial soap products such as bubble baths or shower gels can have a drying effect and can be harmful to our skin. Using natural ingredients such as salts and oils is a great way to make sure that you get beautiful skin and healthy mind without using harsh chemicals. Epsom salts are different than traditional salts in that it is actually a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate. Roasted Paprika Chickpeas

I don’t usually write the cooking recipes on this blog and in fact this is my first one, but I felt that its totally worth including this recipe here, as it is so tasty and addictive. I am not usually the one for complicated cooking recipes and I absolutely love quick and healthy recipes. These little beauties are like crunchy delights and with only a few ingredients you can totally make a great lunch or dinner. My little son absolutely loves it too and can literally sit and eat half of the tray in one go :).  They are perfect if like me you have a HUGE appetite and are always hungry , you can snack on these without feeling guilty . To make you will need (Makes around  70 g ) 240 g tinned chickpeas drained 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/4 tsp Himalayan Pink salt 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg ( fresh or dried) To make: Pre heat the oven to 170C and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Moon Balm

I totally believe that inner peace is the key to outer beauty and a good nights sleep can work absolute wonders on how we feel and look. I have noticed for a long time now the direct and instantaneous connection between the lack of sleep and the state of my skin. It looks dry and dull when I have not has my 7 hours peaceful seep. I have seen various sleep balms  being sold in the shops and although some of them are very nice, the truth is that it is so much easier and cheaper to make one yourself , than to buy one.   You can always adjust the essential oils and their quantities to suit your personal preference. This is a recipe for a warming and nourishing  ginger tea, great for the colder months. It is packed full of vitamins, minerals and amino acids and very quick and easy to make. I love perfect winter drinks, knowing that it nourishes me and strengthens my immune system. For this warming tea you will need: Ginger – contains Vitamin A, B , amino acids an minerals such as iron and zinc that are beneficial for cardiovascular systems and therefore may help reduce the risk of blocked arteries, a common cause of heart attacks may help reduce the risk of blocked arteries, a common cause of heart attacks . Healing Soak for Cold and Flu

Ah its so cold and dark outside  and makes me feel like I want to stay in and be warm at home. When the cold strikes during the winter time, I don’t usually like to take any over the counter medicine, as although they might relieve the cold symptoms they also weaken our immune system. Its so comforting to be able to take a nice , therapeutic bath which will help to relieve symptoms such as congestion, body aches, chills, sore throat , stiffness and mane other signs of common colds and flu. The spices and the heat of the bath will make you sweat, in a good way ! Sweating draws out the toxins pollutants and impurities from our bodies  and the detoxification process will continue after the bath. This all natural bath soak is also great for relieving dry and itchy skin. Stimulating and Detoxifying Tea

Spices have great healing powers and the herbal wisdom offers us remedies that increase our vitality by improving our digestion. Our bodies spend a tremendous amount of time digesting the food we eat. This is why  a heavy meal leaves us feeling fatigued and sleepy, as all the energy goes into digesting the food. Not being able to digest properly will leaves us feeling fatigued and more susceptible to chronic ailments including  allergies, PMS and nutritional deficiencies.
