A new year for many people means a fresh start.  A fresh start not only to our health but also to the way you take care of your skin.  Incorporating a mask into the skin care regime is a great place to start. This incredible mask  is packed with antioxidants, minerals and active ingredients that will help to clear your skin of toxins and grime while nourishing and clearing it at the same time. It will also help to minimize the pores.

Activated Charcoal – Activated charcoal is well known for its highly absorbent properties. It can absorb up to 200 times its dry weight. It is already used to absorb poisons in the body so when applied to the skin, it will suck out all of the dirt and grime from your pores.

As well as absorbing toxins from your skin, another benefit of using activated charcoal is that it’s also perfect for people with oily skin. With continued use your complexion will improve making it look healthier and fresh and flawless.  If you suffer from a greasy T-zone then applying activated charcoal regularly can greatly improve the condition of your skin and minimize the size of the pores.

Bentonite clay – is a truly unique clay, it produces an “electrical charge” when wet, giving it the ability to absorb toxins and neutralize heavy metals. These special powers and its gentle nature is why bentonite clay is often used both internally and externally for detoxifying purposes.

Matcha green tea has an amazing antioxidant values. Matcha is a type of high-quality, shade-grown green tea that is specially harvested and ground into a fine powder. Antioxidants are critical for good health. They fight free radicals that are responsible for aging and disease. Because the entire tea leaf is consumed, matcha contains a lot more antioxidants than regular green tea.  It is an amazing ingredient for DIY beauty masks. All of those wonderful antioxidants work to fight the negative effects of free radicals and UV radiation, and can help repair sun-damaged skin. In addition this powerful antioxidant will stimulate dead skin cells and improve tired and dull skin.

Tea tree oil is best known as a powerful immune stimulant. It can help to fight all three categories of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses) and it is therefore a great remedy to use for fighting acne. If you have very sensitive skin, then do a patch test before using it on your face. You can of course use any other essential oil of your choice if you wish.
