Over the last few years I have been tempted to try out lash and brow enhancing treatment that have flooded the beauty market. Who doesn’t want beautiful , long eyelashes and luscious brows? Most of them are full of harsh chemicals such as prostaglandin, which can cause allergic reactions and which has even been banned for use in lash serums in some European countries. I decided not to , as it seems quite scary for me to put such chemicals anywhere near my eyes.
I have known for a while now about the growth stimulating and enhancing properties of the Castor oil , so I decided that it is a much safer and better way to experiment with facial hair growth. I feel like Castor oil is one of these amazing oils that is not used enough, it has so many great properties and I always have to remind myself to use it more.
Castor oil is derived from a castor bean seed and is comprised of vitamin E, minerals, proteins and antibacterial properties. Apart from that it is also rich in triglyceride variant of fatty acids. Castor oil is also high in omega 9 fatty acids, which are nourishing to both the hair and the follicle, as well as the surrounding skin. It has a unique ability to be deeply penetrating, and this helps it to deliver its nourishment deeply into the pores and the follicles that produce hair. It is these properties that makes castor oil an effective healing agent. It offers wide range of benefits and enhancing the growth of eyelashes is just one among them.
The best time to apply castor oil is at night, preferably couple of hours before bed time. While it is perfectly fine to use them during day time, there is a big advantage in applying them at night as this allows more time to saturate and start the process which aids in growing eyelashes.
So of course you can just apply castor oil on its own, however adding other oils to this serums will make it even more nourishing and will add extra properties to your serum .Rich in vitamins, mono saturated fats, calcium and magnesium sweet almond oil is not only an amazing skin moisturizer, but also it can be applied on your eyelashes and eyebrows to make them grow faster, nourish and prevent them from falling out. Vitamin E will act as a preservative in this serum.
I always try to use organic oils and for this serum it is important to use the best quality oils, as it is going near the eye area.
Recipe for the Castor Oil Serum
1 Tbs Organic Organic Castor Oil
5 Tsp Organic Sweet Almond oil
3 Tsp Organic Vitamin E oil
Mix in a small bowl and use a new eye lash wand to place serum on lashes and brows.
It is good to apply castor oil on to the baseline of your eyelashes. So while applying you should make sure that you are not over using it. It is always recommended to use a tool, such as a mascara want or a Q tip which can help you to apply it evenly.
