Flower Essences and Fear of Flying

I just want to start by saying that I am a very nervous flyer and this article is not necessarily a review of Lotus Wei products generally ( this is a whole different article as they are amazing) , but how they have helped me to combat my fear . I have been a frequent flyer , flying over 20 times per year , for the last 20 years and can honestly say that in my case , flying often hasn’t helped me to feel less anxious, stressed and even panicky when I am boarding a plane. My  anxiety reaches its highest during turbulence, take off and landing, however I generally don’t feel comfortable throughout the whole flight , although most of the time I do try to control myself.

My fear got the worst of me last March when me and my husband were flying from Mumbai to London on  a particularly turbulent flight ( 6 hours of turbulence) , by which point I almost lost control and no amount of champagne ( I am a non drinker ) or lavender essential oil could deal with my growing anxiety. Thanks to the amazing crew on this British Airways flight, who in turn each sat with me holding my hand and even doing a meditation with me, for 4 hours , I managed to relax a little.

So to fast forward 3 months ,  totally forgetting about my fear of flying and after hearing so many amazing things about the Lotus Wei flower essences I decided to give them a try .  I purchased a few elixirs and aura mists and was absoolutelly amazed at the effects it had on me. Inner Peace elixir literally helped me to stay sane and calm during the energeticaly heavy months of July and August. It was literally an ‘AHA’ moment, that I felt the difference the inner peace elixir made. A general feeling of no matter what I am calm and peaceful and can handle whatever is thrown at me.  The aura sprays also had such a calming and invigorating effect on me , that I instantly fell in love with them.

Flower essences are infusions of flowers in water, that are potentized and then stabilized in a solution of brandy and water. They are like a vibrational imprint of a flower that has been transferred in water.Basically it is a pure plant based alchemy and magic. As we use a flower essence, we begin to resonate in harmony with the qualities of the flower, and limitations and disharmonies begin to change.

After taking Inner Peace essence for 2 months I had to take 2 flights and while on the flight it suddenly dawned on me how calm I was, even during the turbulence, my anxiety did not kick in and for the first time in years I could just enjoy myself while flying. I realised straight away that it was thanks to the flower essences that I was taking and couldn’t believe the difference they made. It was another ‘AHA’ moment that made me realise why I am not feeling scared and anxious. I have not been so relaxed on a flight for at least 10 years. OMG this was sensational and made me so happy.

So I looked up the ingredients of Inner Peace elixir and its flower power effects :

It facilitates the experience deep peace, calm, confidence, comfort and contentment and strength during times of high-stress. Also,  dissolves high levels of stress & overwhelm, feeling a lack of support, nervousness, fear, lack of confidence and nervousness about public speaking and in my case the fear of flying . 🙂

I later discovered that the uses of flower essences are endless and some flower essences (the most famous one is Bach Flower Remedy ) are indeed used to combat the fear of flying as they can help us to dissolve negative beliefs.  What’s more is that they stimulate lasting changes in our own consciousness, and that can lead to some pretty amazing shifts in our emotions and behaviours.

Saying all that , this was just my experience and of course might not necessarily work for you, but I do believe that it is better to give flower essences a go rather than taking pills or using alcohol to calm yourself down.  Years and years of anxious flying and searching for a remedy that will work for me , may have come to an end. Together with the flower essences, I would definitely also recommend practicing meditation, which has been a life changing experience for me.
