Honey and Jojoba Vitamin Mask

I absolutely love using raw honey in my skincare routine, especially when making face masks. Honey is an amazing ingredient , which has humectant and skin brightening alpha hydroxy acid properties.

During the winter month I always feel like I want to nourish and hydrate my skin, more than any other months of the year, plus I have more time during the cold winter evenings to experiment with different face masks. This mask feels so nourishing and luxurious on the skin and it leaves the skin feeling, fresh, moisturised and nourished. It is packed with vitamins , minerals and antioxidants which is great for when your skin needs some extra loving.

As anybody who knows me knows that I am absolutely obsessed with rosehip seed oil , which is rich in vitamin A and C and has great anti ageing properties. The essential fatty acids on rosehip seed oil help to smooth wrinkles by hydrating the skin and can help to slow signs of ageing. It is one of the best oils to use for wrinkles. Jojoba is an excellent emollient, regenerative and restructuring oil , which doesn’t clog pores and can help to treat acne. Aloe vera is great for calming and soothing irritating skin and pink clay is full of minerals and will help to pull grime and toxins from the skin as well as soothe the skin.

This mask is best made in one use quantities , as due to clay and other natural ingredients in it does not keep more than a few days . However, it is so easy and quick to make and so nice to be able to use fresh ingredients on the skin.

To make the mask you will need :

2 tsp Honey (preferably raw on manuka)

1 tsp Aloe vera

1 tsp Jojoba oil

1 tsp Rosehip Seed oil

1/2 tsp Vitamin E ( optional)

2-4 tsp Pink clay or Kaolin clay

How to make:

Measure the honey and aloe vera and mix well. Add the jojoba, rosehip and vitamin E oil and mix thoroughly with a spoon. Add the clay a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.

To use, spread onto a freshly cleansed face and leave on for 10- 20 min. Remove with warm water and a muslin cloth.

Enjoy  beautiful skin! xx
