Moon Balm


I totally believe that inner peace is the key to outer beauty and a good nights sleep can work absolute wonders on how we feel and look. I have noticed for a long time now the direct and instantaneous connection between the lack of sleep and the state of my skin. It looks dry and dull when I have not has my 7 hours peaceful seep.

I have seen various sleep balms  being sold in the shops and although some of them are very nice, the truth is that it is so much easier and cheaper to make one yourself , than to buy one.   You can always adjust the essential oils and their quantities to suit your personal preference. This balm will also make a great gift .

Lavender  and Bergamot oils are a natural antidepressants and have balancing and sedative oils working on calming the Central Nervous System.  They also help to release nervous tension, stress and anxiety, which are so relative in our busy and crazy modern lives. Chamomile essential oil has a very deep calming effect emotionally and mentally and is good for treating insomnia. The 3 oils blend so well together and create a truly healing aromatic experience .

This natural relaxing  balm recipe with aromatherapeutic benefits will help you unwind and enjoy a better nights sleep.

To make this balm you will need:

2 tbsp jojoba oil

2 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp beeswax

15 drops lavender essential oil

10 drops bergamot essential oil

5 drops chamomile essential oil

How to make:

Melt the beeswax, coconut and jojoba oil inside the bain marie until the beeswax is completely melted, being sure the water doesn’t boil over. Stir with a wooden chopstick to combine.

Once the oils are melted and mixed together, add in the essential oils and mix well to combine.

Carefully pour the oil blend into a clean metal or glass container with a lid .

To use, rub the balm on pulse point and enjoy a great night’ sleep.
