Chocolate and Mint Lip Balm

As the weather is getting colder here in UK , my lips can get dry and I always like to use some natural lip balm to keep them moisturised during the colder months. This balm includes only a few totally natural  ingredients and is so easy to make. The combination of chocolate and mint is totally delicious.

The coconut oil is super moisturising and the almond oil helps to moisturise  and soothes the skin on the lips. The beeswax in this balm will not only provide a long lasting barrier of hydration , but also will help the balm to settle into a consistency of a balm.  However, if you wish you can skip the beeswax, but do make sure that you keep your balm in a cooler place to prevent it from melting.

You can always use different oils such as apricot kernel oil or argan oil. This balm will leave your lips smelling so sweet and feeling soft and moisturised.

You will need:

1 tbsp Cooconut oil

1 tsp Almond oil

1/2 tsp Beeswax (optional)

2 drops Vitamin E oil

1-2 small pieces of dark chocolate or 1/3 tsp of Cocoa powder

2 drops of peppermint essential oil

Directions:

Place the coconut oil, beeswax and almond oil in a heat proof bowl.

Place some water in a small saucepan and bring to the boil.

Hold the bowl with ingredients over boiling water and stir contents with a wooden spoon or stick until fully melted.

Once melted, take of the heat, add the Vitamin E, peppermint oil and chocolate to the mix.

Once combined, pour the mixture in a small container and allow to cool. ( do not close the container until the mixture has cooled down).

This balm will keep for up to 8-10 weeks.

Love, Anna xx
